Margarita Monday!

I love mixing drinks. Finding my own recipes to a classic and adding my twist to it is just exciting! Tonight I made margaritas, my best so far, if I may say so myself. Technically, this is a Rum Rita, but who can ever say no a to any type of margarita. The recipe is super easy and takes about five minutes to make. It is the perfect way to unwind from a hectic Monday. I hope you like it. Scratch that, I hope you love it!

Flore's Radical Ritas

Makes Two
• 3 ounces Captain Morgan Lime Rum
• 1 ounce Triple Sec
• 2 ounces of Lime Juice (or juice from 5 limes)
• 1-3 ounces Simple Syrup
• Ice
• Rimming Salt or Sugar

I like my margaritas blended so just add all your ingredients in a blender and ice to your taste. You can add Tequila instead of Rum if you wish. This recipe was made especially for my father, he likes sweeter drinks so if you don't just at 1 ounce of syrup or none. Once everything is blended to the consistency that you want, moisten the rim of the glass with a lime and dip in salt. Then sit back, relax and pretend that you are on the beach in Cabo.

I hope this has made your Monday a little less manic! If you have any good recipes that you would like to share, please do. I love new recipes!

Enjoy!

Quinoa Bites

A few days ago I had posted pictures of Quinoa Bites that I had made on Instagram and quite a few people wanted the recipe. It is so easy, health and filling to make. I got the recipe from So Very Blessed. I changed it up a bit because I was missing some ingredients and they still turned out really good!

Quinoa Bites:

2 cups cooked quinoa
2 large eggs
1 cup shredded carrot
2 stalks green onion, diced (I used caramelized onions!)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (I didn't have this so I did not add it, still yummy!)
1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese
2 Tbs all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper

First step is preheating the oven to 350 F. Second step is just mixing all the ingredients together in a bowl. To cook I used a greased mini cupcake tin. You fill each tin to the top and voilĂ

Bake for about 10-20 mins. They taste so much better when they are not overcooked so keep and eye out for them!

Once you have finished making them you just have to wait till they cool and enjoy! I used a Parmesan and garlic dressing I had lying around. You can experiment with dressings till you find the one that you like the best!

Enjoy!

Wish-List: Going to a Summer Wedding

summer wedding

{Click here for outfit details}

Recently a friend on Instagram had asked me if I could post what I would wear to a summer wedding. I was thrilled that someone would ask for my help that I did not directly know! I still am :) At first I had 101 ideas of what to post but then when it came time to post something I was drawing a blank. I was not sure what to put together every time my fingers touched a key... I guess that is bloggers-block? haha. These past weeks have been rough so I think that the break was much needed. Plus it was my sisters graduation party and we did so much for it! It was really an amazing party. Later this week I will be posting some pictures of it all. But I digress...

This is what I would wear if I was to attend a summer wedding :) Lavender and coral is my new favorite... Which is funny because I have very few of both! I had no clue that those colors would look as nice together as they do until making this set. Now, I just want this outfit! Actually, both of these outfits!! The gray and black outfit is just so classy and dainty. Dorthy Perkins has the best dresses and they always have awesome sales! I only have a couple of their stuff but once my new job starts kicking in, I am sure that will change!

Well, I am tired and I have made a goal to go running every morning.. Considering that it is 1 a.m. in California I should go right about now. I hope all of you lovelies are having a wonderful week!  <3

Enjoy!

D.I.Y. Charming Little Board

Hey lovelies! I haven't posted in a while. I have been so busy with finding a new job... but with all that work I am happy to announce that I have a job as a Care Provider for the elderly. It fits perfectly with my schedule! Hopefully it all works out.

So... Last week I had posted how to keep your necklaces from fading and turning colors. I included that I was going to share a D.I.Y. charm board and now I present to you just that!

Recently I came across the idea of a charm board. It makes it easy to collect all my charms in one place and it add a different element to my jewelry corner. Hopefully this will be handy to you gals! (plus it is super easy to make!)

What you need:

•  A Picture Frame (of whatever size you wish)
•  Crafting Felt
•  Fabric of your choice (I used some vintage fabric my great aunt handed down to me, I just love it!)
•  Cardboard  (not pictured)
•  Sewing Pins  (not pictured)

First you need to take the frame apart and cut the cardboard and felt to the size of the
frame. Then stack the fabric, felt and cardboard as pictured.

You can stitch the edges in place or just go the lazy way and pin them, like I did! After you secured all corners, put it all back in the frame. I just saved the glass and I will probably use it for another project, eventually.

I used sewing pins to hold the charms in place and then... Voila! You have your own charm board! Display it as you wish!

Enjoy!

From Paris, With Love, 35mm Edition

Film has become sort of a thing now. Well, more specifically collecting film cameras. I think with me it all started when I was young. I love disposable cameras and instant cameras. When I was in high school I started collecting cameras and developing my own film. I loved it so much I still do it. It really makes you feel like you are in control of everything. My collection consist of four 35mm, a Polaroid and brownie. I mainly shoot with my Canon AE-1. It is my baby, I call her Michelle. She has been to Paris, London, Argentina and anywhere else I go. Every so often I will share pictures that I took. This week I am sharing pictures from Paris. Paris is just beautiful and breathtaking. I just was able to take only a few with my film camera. I was running everywhere trying to take everything in. These are my top three, Enjoy!

A typical lunch of fresh bread, brie cheese and cold beer at the flea markets.

Beautiful chandeliers where a common sight. This one is from the Palace of Versailles.

Building with so much character and story fill the streets.

Enjoy!

Those who matter don't mind

...and those who mind don't matter. - Dr. Seuss

Most girls, when it comes to outfit pictures, get really shy, even if in all reality they are just full of life. Something that has helped me is being able to laugh at your self. Confidence needs to come from with in. Yes, not all pictures will come out wonderful but with today's technology that is not a problem! Just delete or edit to get it how you want it. A lot of my friends focus too much on not looking ridiculous as you blog pose in front of people sometimes. Just remember the doctor. Everyone has something that makes them beautiful. Everyone. So start practicing in front of a mirror, have your sister take your pictures and have fun. You are gorgeous! <3

And now for some outfit pictures!

Top: Forever 21
Skirt and belt: Thrifted
Shoes: Target and a D.I.Y. mix

Towards the end I could not help but laugh. My sister and I are just the funniest duo!
Have a wonderful day!

Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it. - Confucius

There is something terribly morbid in the modern sympathy with pain. One should sympathise with the colour, the beauty, the joy of life. The less said about life's sores the better. - Oscar Wilde

The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years. - Audrey Hepburn

Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical. - Sophia Loren

Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick. - Gwyneth Paltrow
